Set up art trays (or an open table), shaving cream, a small rinse bucket (water), paper towels,

various writing instruments (Q-tips, wooden sticks, popsicle sticks, etc.)

Invite children to come over and explore these materials as they scribble, write and draw in the shaving cream.

Discuss:

· What are you creating? Tell me about your creation?

· How does it feel writing, drawing, and scribbling in shaving cream?

· What other ways might we make marks in the shaving cream? (Let them try them out!)
